So I've put out a call for people interested in editing articles for the #altadena wiki I've set up. Right now it's about getting reliable and comprehensive info about fire recovery resources all in one place. Currently each agency puts out some press releases etc and to figure out where you can get bottled water you need to check about 8 different websites. Anyone in the Fediverse in Altadena or #pasadena interested in helping?

@dlakelan have you checked out Congresswoman Chu or State Senator Perez webpages? They are very solid. Perez is also sending out email updates.

I've been getting the Perez emails and put some stuff up there from that. Good plan. I have a taker off FB for co editor so hopefully I can get a few more and we can be in business. This isn't something I want to do entirely alone. Too much!

@dlakelan exactly. It is not sustainable to maintain rapidly evolving info without dedicated people & pipeline like our electeds have. I didn't want to take away any desire to help. I know community can mobilize to do the impossible.

Yes, ideally the wiki becomes more of a one stop shop for more enduring information. Rather than primarily chasing all the news about what's up today. Which means that the pace would slow once a decent knowledgebase had been built up. For now, aggregating some of these daily updates is probably needed, but for example a blog post on how to approach insurance negotiations is relevant for years. Or info on how to use Respirators, info on which water util supplies to what region etc
