So this is interesting - by which I mean infuriating. Some company called "Subco" placed a subscription in my father's name to GQ.

My father, who died in 1997.

I called GQ (a Conde Nast company) and they will only suspend the subscription - they say I have to cancel it through the company that ordered it. So I can see this becoming a real black hole, where I'm on the hook for anything this third party has signed up for.

Has this happened to anyone else?

@akamran Yes, it has indeed. It's a giant scam that can take months to correct I'm afraid.

@GoatsLive if they send me a bill I will take them to small claims court and then they can explain to a judge how someone who died almost 30 years ago can be subscribing to naff magazines.

Edit: math correction: 30 not 40. So upset I couldn't math 🙁
