So this is interesting - by which I mean infuriating. Some company called "Subco" placed a subscription in my father's name to GQ.

My father, who died in 1997.

I called GQ (a Conde Nast company) and they will only suspend the subscription - they say I have to cancel it through the company that ordered it. So I can see this becoming a real black hole, where I'm on the hook for anything this third party has signed up for.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I reached Subco by phone they're a "magazine subscription clearinghouse" whatever the hell that is and it was a "promotional copy" and is allegedly now cancelled.

It fucking better be.
