@isabel it doesn't have to be https://media.ccc.de/v/nixcon-2023-36425-reinventing-the-wheel-with-zilch (though, uh, if you want a whole OS there's no way around using the bash-wrapping nixpkgs currently AFAIK)

@linus i remember watching that talk ~3 months ago, it's one of my favourite nix talks of all time. also wasn't there nuenv at one point?

@isabel yep, though nuenv built on nixpkgs and was more of a "let's try out nushell as a builder" and not a "let's actually remove bash"
