huh. anandtech was reporting that alder lake's ~Thread Director Technology~ was a new discrete microcontroller paired with each core, and afaict this is entirely due to a misunderstanding of a grossly confusing slide deck's graphical depiction of how threads are scheduled

i don't want to get told that "intel thread director communicates with the OS on a microsecond level" i just want to know if it's driven by perf counters or by a microcontroller processing perf counters on a microsecondly interrupt aldkjflkasjdflksjflkj
