@mkb @DorotheaLange I had no idea until I moved to San Francisco and worked with a woman who had been interned as a child. Being from the south, I knew southern racism but was new to how many kinds there were.

@michaelslade In addition to racism, it seems to me plain ol’ shame is a big factor. It’s a lot easier to talk about the other side’s misdeeds than our own.
