Trying to make a child theme, it kind of works but seems to reset stuff which is not present in the parent theme (or WP config, exports, templates etc).
In the past I merely had to create a stylesheet in the child and reference the parent and everything else worked, but this iteration seems more complex.
Any retoots greatly appreciated.

@lukeharby The way you're enqueing the stylesheets may be the issue. SEe step 5 here:

“ideal method of enqueueing stylesheets is when a parent theme loads both its own style.css & child theme’s style.css. Not all themes do this. Examine the code of the parent theme to see which stylesheets it is enqueueing.
If the parent theme loads both stylesheets, the child theme does not need to do anything"
