@sungo I finally got around to order the kobo sage and it's absolutely brilliant! Thanks for your help some time ago.
I used source code pro for monospace on my old kobo and I never got around to change it, in emacs and terminals I since switched to Iosevka Fixed Slab.
For the new kobo I tried the bracket game at https://www.codingfont.com/
and arrived at Ubunto Mono, unfortunately that website does not have Isoveka but I think Ubuntu Mono is pretty legible and narrower than Isoveka.
That means I can have larger letters but still fit 80 columns when reading RFCs.
Out of idle curiosity, what monospace were you using?
