@obsoletesony for folks curious about these beauties: they are all, i believe, wm-eq3 models. there were a handful of model numbers in this range, all pretty similar in specs, except the wm-eq9 which had an inbuilt speaker. they're mechanical transports with auto-reverse, and manual tape formulation selection. sony would later revive the beans branding in similar-shaped mp3 players.
