@cyrus Suppose we lived in a world where HRT was universally accessible to anyone who wanted it, would you still consider it to have legitimate uses? (just trying to understand your perspective, I understand that this is not at all the world we live in)

it's easy to imagine a world where every single usecase (most of which to do with a system that does not meet many's needs) does not exist, but I will entertain the idea

Even in that world there are many other areas that are either not being covered by existing systems (e.g swift or processors like stripe) or are even actively discriminated against, like sex workers or just normal people trying not to live under surveillance and/or oppression.

Existing payment systems either don't cover these people, or actively make it harder for them to exist, as they are designed to do so

Cryptocurrency is not perfect, and the fact that the largest one is also a large energy draw with a community that refuses to change is one hell of a fucking bummer, because there are solutions to these problems; It does not help either that this argument only holds up because we live in a flawed world

But such is reality, even my donation page of choice (Ko-Fi) has some incredibly restrictive policies aimed at disallowing sex workers or people merely drawing even slightly suggestive things (like, sometimes, merely suggesting the idea of a nipple)

@cyrus Makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to explain :) I mostly hear about the bad sides of cryptocurrency (if at all), so I'm pretty ignorant.
