I don't know who needs to hear this, but Muppets. Fraggles and Sesame Street characters are three distinct categories of beings. Kermit the frog was the only one who existed in two worlds.

Big Bird has a cameo in The Muppet Movie (1979) and on the Muppet Show.
It's not just this scene (the big Rainbow Connection song at the end).
Sesame Street is in a universe with muppets.
OTOH the first introduction of The Muppets was the first ever SNL episode and let's just say it wasn't appropriate for children.
