It takes about 3 hours to compile #MAME on my dedicated #HaikuOS build box, a Xeon-upgraded Lenovo M93p Tiny. It's always a tense three hours.

@thelastpsion In my list of "maybe at some point" projects: I've always wanted to see how much effort it would take to strip out the Psion specific stuff from MAME...I think it would be fun to build a Psion 3a emulator that can run on a microcontroller, and maybe build a "modern" 3a with a mechanical keyboard, or something. I should think a CPU emulator plus the Psion bits isn't (hopefully) too complex and presumably should build faster.
