“WARD Tropics” Expedition studies ocean currents in the tropical Atlantic

🚢 On 4 January, the first GEOMAR expedition of the year set sail: on RV METEOR, an international team set off from Belém, Brazil, to Mindelo, Cabo Verde.

🌊 The aim is to study oceanographic and meteorological processes in the tropical Atlantic, focusing on the western boundary circulation and long-term measurements of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC).
