@juliewebgirl The original prank (and subsequent declaration of pink plastic flamingo as the official bird of the city) is also why our local professional soccer team is colloquially known as the Flamingos.

@juliewebgirl @tenzochris The antics of the Pail and Shovel Party got a lot of positive reappraisal in the late 90s and early 2000s. They brought back the Statue of Liberty joke around the same time.
