If anyone's interested, this eBay seller has Lenovo M910q TinyPCs for £49.99. They have a failed DisplayPort apparently, and 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, but that is upgradable and they'd make neat little Linux/BSD homelab servers. I'm waiting for one to be delivered and will report back. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326354600316 (think that should strip the tracking). #homelab #selfhosting #server #linux #bsdunix

Mine arrived at lunchtime, very nicely packaged with its PSU and a USB wifi dongle. The M910q takes SATA SSDs and M.2 NVMe, however, this one doesn't have any storage at all. It's not like I'm short of spares so it's not a problem, but it will be something to check. I'm also going to see if the bus takes an SSD and an M.2 drive or if it's one or the other. The RAM is 2400Mhz DDR4 and under the fan so I'll probably just boot it to check that's there at least.

Ah, no correction, I've booted it up and it does have storage, which must also be under the fan. Back to the manual then...

It's accessible from the underside on these, which was why I was a touch confused. The hardware manual is here: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/m910q_ug_hmm_en.pdf

I've dropped another 8GB of RAM in it and swapped the NVMe for a spare 480GB stick, installed Debian 12 and it's all ready to go as a home application server.

@simon Looking at the BIOS release page it seems Lenovo fixed an issue with “no video during POST with 2 monitors attached” in version M1AKT47A.
It does seem odd they have so many with a broken Display Port, so maybe the seller’s testing isn't that extensive and they were hit with this bug?
I've ordered one anyway, thanks for the tip. It’ll be great for local distro testing/experimentation.

@MediocreWightMan Good spot, could well be the issue. I plugged mine into to port 1 and it looked fine. The business appear to be breakers so they may just be doing a quick test.
