Listening to Peter Paul and Mary tonight (for reasons) and thinking about how my primary reason for learning guitar was so that I could play folk songs with my dad.

I've got thinky-thoughts on the subject of why I haven't picked up the guitar lately, that I haven't yet properly thought through. But there sure are a lot of 'em going around in there.

@emery When you figure out why you haven’t been playing guitar, let me know why I haven’t read a book in a year. Though I know sometimes I just have to prioritize based on what my brain has time and space for.

@theotherbrook Is it that you know your book-reading callouses have all softened and you won't be able to read for longer then a few paragraphs before having to put the book down again?

More seriously, the last time I couldn't read was when I was super stressed. I was in a situation where I had no control over anything, and somehow couldn't focus on a page of text at all.

@emery Yeah, the amount of stress in my life is objectively adjectival. I also think my eyes might have wandered to places my current glasses don't care to go. I should do something about that.

@theotherbrook I am currently sitting in a training session on a subject for which I don't need training (document formatting - seriously??) and doing anti-stress deep breathing exercises.
