So how convincing, now, is Zuck's "We ❤️ Fediverse" appeal in 2023?

Is it now clear that it was nothing but a way to let you overlook your suspicion of the company based on much past experience?

We users collectively use the Blanche Dubois method of choosing platform vendors. We depend on the kindness of strangers.
