Oh, I'm pleased to say it's not people here. More me shouting into the void at Global Fuckwits. The balance of my timeline is just a bit out of whack at the moment and I'm being a bit persistently reminded about Things That Are Terrible.

Absolutely not a pop at people posting about it/them either. Sometimes you need to vent. It's just I like here as a bit of an escape and I've got a bit more depressed at each log in the last couple of days.

I feel that.

I also feel like I should know what is going on in the world so I can have the worries and the informed discussions.

But also I just want it all to go away as it is too much to take in, and especially when it also feels like there is nothing we can do at all to affect it.

But it would also be bad to hide away and pretend it isn't happening.

@Maker_of_Things Yes, absolutely this. I don't want to bury my head in the sand, but also don't want to be buried by the awfulness. It is such a difficult balance.

My timeline here has generally been quite good. I think it's a temporary blip and it will settle again, but muting a few words / hashtags for a while should help in the short term.

I have been graually reducing down the number of lists I actiely look at.

Many of the actively political folks are on one list, I don't look anymore unless I am really bored.

I look less at my list of makers, just scrolling quickly through as I scan for actual maker toots.

I tend to focus on my friends list and notifications now, as it is queter.

I don't even look at the wider Fediverse anymore.
