People Powered Platforms are the future

The fediverse is the best example of that

It's becoming increasingly apparent that VC funding never leads to healthy and happy communities

The ball is in our court as fediverse platforms to take this opportunity to embrace less technical users and make our communities easier and safer to join than the alternatives

And we couldn't be in better company, there are so many talented minds working to make a better social web!

2025 = Year of the Fediverse

@pixelfed The problem is that the sole existence of decetralization is enough to scare non-techy people away, because it's "too complicated".

@stemy @pixelfed I always like to ask people if they also chose 4 different mobile providers to stay in contact with all of their acquaintances

@stemy @pixelfed just talk about it just like it would be when choosing an email provider.

Even though those days people think it's a matter of webmail client style 😆

@pixelfed Thank you from a less technical user (no hugs, please, though 😜)

@pixelfed

The problem is not VC-funding.

The problem is that these are ad-financed.
