just watched From Ground Zero, an anthology of short films made by palestinian filmmakers in gaza over the last year.
the effect of seeing like two dozen separate stories of despair and hope and such unbelievable suffering in those ruins, one after the other, is crushing and overwhelmingly desolate. which seems fitting.
i highly recommend people find a way to watch this film. their voices deserve to be heard.

it was fucking bizarre watching it in a regular commercial movie theater with all the regular previews before it. like the cognitive dissonance induced by consuming all the glorified luxury baubles of an empire and then to sit through 2 hours of its raw uncensored consequences...
