@1moremin I am surprised anyone here would think online is online only. If you are interacting with real people, it's real, no matter the context.

@1moremin Depends of the communication. If I communicate with real people, it's IRL like telephone, sign language, smoke signals, drumming ... Not a location, but a tool.

But the internet can be so much more without any people/IRL, from propaganda bots to hallucinating AI-search machines.

yes ... no ... yes and no ... possibly even neither yes nor no .....

Yknow, when I text a relative over a messaging service, that is technically online.

And the "real" part of irl gives this misleading vibe that online things are NOT "real".

I guess overall, I'd say there's some things I'd consider both online and irl, but also things that are only irl or online to me. So, two circles with some overlap!
