I received a Meshtastic device today, a MuziWorks R1.

The concept is that these connect & network with other devices locally, passing text messages between users. It’s an off-grid, decentralized, noncommercial messaging system.

My problem is that the explanatory materials jump from that basic sort of explanation straight to code and channels and undefined acronyns. I’ve learned used tech of all sorts for a long time. This seems to be a learning cliff rather than a learning curve.
