@cfbolz Totally unrelated, but I saw the PyPy blog post on supporting Python 3.11 earlier.
Did you guys look into changing your GIL semantics to match 3.11, i.e. reduce the number of checks I think to call boundaries basically in the interpreter?

@smarr no, we didn't look into that, and honestly, we likely won't (it makes things artificially appear safe, even though they aren't)
