I watched the first episode of Stranger Things with my wife, looked for an age recommendation, found that the US says 14, Germany says 16, and thus I’m fairly confident: this is not for me. Delete! My rule of only watching things with an age limit of 12 still holds. Back to Star Trek, for tonight! (TOS season 3 episode 11 coming up).

@kensanata I liked the first season: mostly suspense. Not showing much.
They didn't succeed in the following seasons. Some are gruesome or toy with body horror. If I had stopped watching on the first season... but then the 4th season had great moments, even if the show is arguably getting worse.
Anyway. I see it may not be for everybody. I almost didn't watch it either.

@kensanata It's a weird show. It's extruded nostalgia product. Almost but not quite accurate recreation of '80s kids adventure like Goonies, and reuses some older actors we like (Wynona! ♥), but with modern shitty filmmaking, color grading, drawn-out plots, and CGI monsters instead of practical effects.
S1 was tolerable, S2 less so but I liked the mall vibe, S3-4 are bad, I quit watching midway.
I do not understand why Kids Today™ like it, they weren't '80s kids.
