Ann #Telnaes quitting the Washington Post is a HUGE story in editorial #journalism…
…and the Post is not only too chickenshίt to run her cartoon—they’re also too chickenshίt to publish the story of her resignation.
Substack, NYT, various #SocialMedia
posters (including here on Mastodon) et al have covered it—but #WaPo? Don’t hold your breath.
I’m old enough to remember when Post had the guts to take on a corrupt president and force him to resign.
Now, it’s just pathetic.

@MollyNYC I'm so glad I cancelled my WaPo sub when they yanked the the endorsement of Harris. That made it clear what direction this was going in.
The only problem in that cancellation: I can't now cancel again. 😋
Once Bezos started paying attention to WaPo, its fate was sealed. I hear they have a marketing campaign to get people back.
Is Bezos still there? Until then, I don't trust them. Trust is essential with media. If Bezos is there, I'm not. No way to get me back. Deal breaker.

@MarkSquiresWine
A marketing campaign?
The only marketing campaign that’ll work is (a) #WaPo’s editorial board sits #Bezos’ аss down and tells him that if he wants the Post to survive, he’s going to have to stay out of their hair; and (b) Bezos stays out of their hair.

@MollyNYC unfortunately, even that won't work. No one trusts him anymore. No one believes he will not put a finger on the scale, either directly or through his flunky Lewis. He has to be gone. He has to sell to someone reputable. That is, definitely not Elon Musk. 😄
