Holy moly the Mastodon 4.3.x design sucks! I'm currently testing our upgrade on our dev environment, and I'm genuinely shocked how terrible the contrast is!
Why did we ever invent colours if we're just going to use a dark background, with grey icons. To make matters worse, the timeline is now no longer using a slightly lighter grey, so it's even harder to separate the 3 elements (left, middle, right)

A bit of css commit revert and merge later
I think this is a lot better, but I'm not a developer so I can only kinda hope I didn't cripple the CSS in a way that isn't obvious to me now. The console looks fine though, and assets:precompile succeeds.
