"Copper is harder than aluminium" .. so yesterday I've been doing some work like cutting some aluminium front panels ( 3U rackmount ) from a 2.5mm strip, filing, drilling some 2.5mm holes (*) and flattening some copper pipe and drilling holes in it to make some 90 deg "supports". So I have only a 2mm drill bit and some small files .. "Sure enlarging a 2mm hole to a 2.5mm should not take too much ?" .. well .. 20 mins per hole ? If you think copper is "soft" think again ! Especially after CONT.

CONT. hammering and cleaning it. So it took me HOURS and I was thinking at all those do/restoration videos where it LOOKS like "oh all happens in 10 mins" .. I should have took a 2 hours videos and speed it up and see "how short it looks after doing that" ( and chopping the repetitive parts ) so yeah "reality is always different". (*) as I said I had a 2mm to enlarge by filing to 2.5mm it's much harder than it sounds ! Today I'll try to "recover" a failed experiment.
