In EP1 of "#Jank Masters" we meet Nicolai, whose #graphicscard (1050ti) had its fans die. What did he do? He found a case-fan, strapped it to the card using ELASTIC and STRIP WIRE, before yolo-connecting it to the CPU-fan-header serially. It now runs at max speed all time so a bit noisy. Works tho?

next up is trying #fedora #linux i think, I tire of this #popos game

managed to get the full-speed fan issue solved by using a y-splitter + low-noise resistor from an old noctua-fan kit i had lying around - now the machine is again whisper-quiet and despite being ancient (6700k yikes), it runs great using

[#]linux

:D

@tootbrute that is 100% why I did it 😂 also I love reusing parts and the system is not gonna move, it's just gonna sit and Linux under my desk for time eternal
