If you’re snowbound and want an easier place for biking in winter, come visit. When we see tourists on bikes, we let them know: people who bike are our favorite visitors! Although we hope for more winter rain, we can pretty much guarantee you no snow. https://bikemonterey.org/pipe-in-the-new.html

If you don’t like the weather here (it’s not Southern California, it’s California’s Central Coast), it’ll change. Photos show changing weather on the Big Sur coast Sunday, December 29. Rain, fog, then sunshine broke through. We shot these at 2:23 pm, 4:40 pm, 5:05 pm. We do miss the years when Big Sur was quiet, had no heavy traffic, no crowds necessitating passes for Pfeiffer Beach, etc. It makes sense that its spectacular beauty summoned millions of new visitors in recent years. https://bikemonterey.org/big-sur-not-big-enough-sur-by-tim-harrington.html

Wherever you are, we hope you’re doing what you can to help care for this beautiful planet. #ThereIsNoPlanetB.

Happy 2025!
