@annaleen Yes, the Julian calendar has leap years every four years without exception. This is too many leap years to match the astronomical reality. The Gregorian calendar is a correction of the Julian. It jumped forward 10 days and eliminated leap years on century years unless they are divisible by 400. For example, 1900 was not a leap year, but 2000 was. In three out of every four centuries the Julian calendar falls another day behind the Gregorian calendar. The current gap is 13 days.

@annaleen You’re welcome. Back when I was teaching computer science, I’d give the problem of determining whether a given year was a leap year to my introductory programming classes. It’s a challenging problem, but simple enough for students just learning about if statements.
