Apparently there's a thing on Youtube where a video can be put up as a... premiere? And at a certain time the video will be like, livestreamed with a chat and everything but it's not actually a livestream, you just put a bunch of people together into a chat??

@socks Yeah, I think it's meant to help make the launch more of an event, and also simulate a bit of how TV used to work. Plus, often the creator joins the chat, so they get to see live reactions, and you get to talk to them about their video as you watch their video.

@socks I don't really bother "going" to them like ever tho. But I bet they're nice if you have a creator where you really like their fan community or how they engage with their chat.

@skysailor Maaaybe? This seems just, completely disconnected from how I use Youtube and how I imagine others use it too! It seems extremely hard to have a sense of community there, people usually go to Twitch for that

@skysailor @socks amusingly, the only times I've been present for a Youtube premiere are because I was watching a Twtich streamer who closed his stream with the premier of a highlights video using footage from a prior stream.
