got a cute tiny 1930s drill press from someone clearing out their garage!
"what every programmer needs"
it has an odd mechanism, instead of a quill the drill self-feeds downwards as it turns
when it encounters resistance it raises the flyweight at the top instead of continuing to lower
apparently this is good for tapping (not something ive ever needed to try)
i think i can use it to drill its own bolt holes in the desk, by spinning the top around
(i will clean it first obviously)
