TV and Movies:
Nothing stood out for TV.
On the movie side I enjoyed Dune 2, Alien Romulus and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (try it out before dismissing it).

Books:
Memories and Adventures by Arthur Conan Doyle: This stood out by a large margin. An autobiography. Very little about Holmes or too much on his spiritual beliefs but an interesting window in Victorian life and also an interesting life in itself.
The Mountain in the Sea: Fun. near-future scifi with a nautical spin.
Die with Zero: Getting All You Can from Your Money and Your Life: I read this right at the start of year and bits have stuck with me.

Games:
I continued plumbing the depths of the Souls back catalog and finished Dark Souls 3 and 2. The DLC boss for Dark Souls 3 was particularly memorable; I can't imagine how the experience was created
Other than this nothing stood out for me.

This was a heavily bombed country. Shell casings are even used to decorate the outside of shops

Leaving Phonsavan was a memorable 8 hour trip on an over-crowded minibus, with some catchy Thai and Lao country music. It was a mountainous and dusty route with some great views despite the discomfort.

In the same trip I visited a decaying boat-theme hotel chain in the South of Koh Chang in Thailand.

Closer to home I visited the Victoria and Albert Museum in London for the first time. It is massive. The Trajan's Column in the Cast Courts stood out in every way.

Food:
Tastiest meal was a Tom Yum Soup with Dumpings here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XsqNLJBeu8hi7YVs6
Also a roadside kaphrao (stirfry thai basil with rice) not too far from Don Mueang airport was incredibly tasty too

In Laos there was a type of nori (crispy seaweed sheets common in Japan) that had seeds and small shrimp embedded inside.
