why is mastodon revamping their UIs in terms of how they display quotes, codeblocks, tons of other stuff yet REFUSES to have formatted posts on vanilla mastodon???

you can't even send all this fancy formatting wtf is the point lol

@cyrus might be prep to support posting it later, starting with supporting the markup that already gets sent by different servers now?

@cyrus there was no definitive "it's going to happen" but I saw some considerations towards markup posting support from Gargron at some point.

@cyrus yeah, I think that probably was about a year ago or so

and it wasn't even a hallucination, it's actually on the roadmap, even if it's just in the "Exploring" section right now.
