@chrisnelder I seem to recall a US or British newspaper within the past several years that the Carter Administration caught the severe extinction level potential of planet heating up and were hopeful to continue changing energy policy if they won. Wasn't on Reagan Admin's radar at all, of course. Right around the same time ExxonMobil criminally withheld the same confirming data their scientists figured out.
