First post on this account and it's going to be political! Hooray!
Fuck #godot "apolitical" forks.
From my understanding, several forks of the Godot game engine exist because of a tweet they made to highlight #lgbtq game developers using the engine.
This was spun as Godot "becoming political" and "failing its community," and so naturally, the right made excuses like "using Godot reflects their political ideology onto my own," as if any player cares about what engine you use, let alone the politics of that engine.
Along comes a couple of forks to redeem the project by making it "apolitical."

To quote Innuendo Studios' video "How to Radicalize a Normie":
"'Political' means anything on which the community disagrees ... 'feminism is good' is a political statement because the community hasn't reached a consensus. It is debatable, and therefore political, and you should stop talking about it. And making political arguments, no matter how rational, is having an agenda, and having an agenda is ruining the community."

In other words, trying to strip "politics" and "political statements" from a community is a not-so-subtle attempt at silencing progressivism and hiding conservatism. This is not apolitical, it's blatantly biased... which is the point. These people never would've cared if the tweets were about something they agreed with.
(Godot aside, that video is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to any progressives. It offers far more context for this idea of how "apolitical spaces breed tolerance for intolerance" and touches on what influences apolitical people to become fascists)
