On the 30th December 1924, a rather small #metro line was opened under #Barcelona. Originally known as the "Gran Metropolitano de Barcelona" (or Gran Metro, for short), it was the first metro line of the city, and it connected the city center with the Vila de Gràcia neighborhood, stretching a total of 2,7km with 4 stops.
Tomorrow, it's its 100th anniversary. A century after it first opened, it has become the backbone of transportation within the city.

El 30 de desembre de 1924, s'inaugurà una petita línia de #metro al subsol de #Barcelona. Originalment anomenat "Gran Metropolitano de Barcelona" (o Gran Metro), fou la primera línia de metro de la ciutat, i connectà el centre de la ciutat amb el barri de la Vila de Gràcia, amb un recorregut de 2,7km i 4 estacions.
Demà serà el seu 100è aniversari. Un segle des de la seva inauguració, ha esdevingut una peça clau en el transport de la ciutat.
