Toot

It's been about 72hrs since I first started coughing with whatever this is.

I have spent approximately 22hrs a day in bed.

I have had about 2-3hrs of actual sleep a day.

I've not eaten a meal since about 4pm on the 26th.

I had a frangipane yesterday, but it didn't taste right, I tried some toast this morning, but it didn't taste right.

The back of my throat is sore from coughing, but there's no chesty infection. A constant headache for nearly 4 days though.

My sister (Typhoid Mary) is still feeling lousy, she's had a couple of extra days on the rest of us as she came down with it on Xmas eve, after visiting her stepdaughter and step grandson... who were just getting over something.

I'm not being sick, mainly because I'm not eating anything, mainly because nothing tastes nice.

Hot lemon drinks are pretty much sustaining me at the moment. Everything is sore, even sitting in a very good office chair with proper lumbar support hurts. I can't be up for more than an hour or so before I feel light headed and need to lay down again (Not eating will do that).

On the upside, I have lost about 2.5kg... that's a first for me over xmas. I normally gain a couple of kg.

I'm currently having to slice up and vacuum seal all the meat, or it'll have to be thrown out. There's already a load that's got to be put in the bin that can't be frozen.

At least all of the party foods we would have cooked up for a buffet on Boxing day and so forth are fine in the freezer. But at this rate, I doubt any of us will be up for a gathering or rich party foods until well into the new year.

If you're wondering how bad I actually am... I've not had a coffee since Xmas day.😷 😫 🤢

@Anomnomnomaly There are so many people on here that have gone down with this bug. It sounds horrendous.

I hope you're on the mend soon.

Bloody typical when you're on annual leave!

@sharongascoigne

I flip flop between being cold and overheating.

Pretty sure it's not covid, it doesn't feel like a respitory infection. My cough hurts that back of my throat, whilst my mum and my sister have both pulled muscles in their abdomen from coughing.

We've both been unable to get the flu jab this year... we're both entitled to one... just can't get one done. Local chemist we normal use said they'd run out.

Noticed last Monday when I picked up a prescription that they're 'selling' flu jabs for £18

@Anomnomnomaly I used to pay for one so I was more protected for working in December but I've not had one for a couple of years now.

Fingers crossed that you shift it quickly. I'm definitely due the lurgy as I've only had one proper cold in the past decade and have avoided covid thus far.

I'm convinced that as we have our shop door open all year round, no matter how freezing it is, and that we don't have central heating at home that's kept the bugs at bay to a degree.
