Growing up in a rural North Carolina coastal town with surfers, fishermen, rednecks, and a nearby marine biology research campus was a unique #music index. I cherish my early exposure to live reggae music. Local radio play of Southern fried rock, Rush, and ever present periodic festival beach music was… eclectic. School bus rides with UK punk and heavy metal(devil music!). Before MTV, I still remember being confused that Van Morrison was not Van Halen (yet intertwined in music production value).
