@eniatitova No ferry on Christmas Day. Paddled out directly from Horseshoe Bay (Fort Baker). Camped two nights, with a hike around the island in between, then paddled round the island clockwise and cut across the shipping lanes back to Horseshoe (we looked for ships on the ship-tracking app, first). Angel Island is a favorite destination on big current days because it has some nice tide races to surf. We didn’t surf in our heavily laden boats, though.
There was one other group camping on the island. They had taken the ferry out and were planning to take it back today.

@ELS that’s a long paddle! may I ask, from a position of complete ignorance? Why not paddle out from Tiburon? It seems like a much shorter trip.
