Pro-tip for #ThinkPad repairs, as this just just cost me over an hour: the lid switch is using a magnet. Do not stack multiple ThinkPads on top of each other, as the lid of the bottom device might interfere with the top device, making it think you closed the lid (and may suspend into hibernation).
On the plus side: when I opened the device for the second of three times, I found a loose screw.
