Huge advantage of #Gentoo is that you can slim the system you are building from all the unnecessary stuff.

For example: no need for logind and dbus on a server build (with OpenRC).

But furthermore I have to say, that spirit of #FreeBSD still lingers in Gentoo as it: has a fairly minimal base, simple init system and a package manager inspired by Ports.

With recent advent of binary package support using Gentoo feels even more alike FreeBSD.

If you do not like the prercompiled binary package you can build the one you want from sources very easily.

@xgqt I love Gentoo’s simplicity. It never gets in your way and gives you total freedom to do whatever you want with your system.
