After 20 years, three months and more than 235,000 miles, @czds and I decided to retire our Toyota Highlander, though it’s still in our driveway. Our Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited AWD was delivered a week ago. We installed our home charger yesterday, after swapping out the NEMA 14-30 receptacle the electrician had installed with the required 14-50 for the dedicated 240V60A circuit. Don’t go above the 40 amp choice for the plugin version even if the ChargePoint app offers the 50 amp choice… 1/2

2/2 The advanced driving assistance system 2 is amazing, though it takes some getting used to. My original career path as a physical electrochemis in renewable energy makes this a long held dream come true. Using Apple CarPlay is far superior to just using Maps on the iPhone. Both of us can connect at the same time, for navigation, directions, etc. The home charging went from 24% to 100% while we slept, and that convenience and cost savings alone should convince EV skeptics.
