There is a "Electronic Instruments Jam" in the 38c3 schedule. Now I am thinking about throwing a synth in my suitcase. But which one? ๐ค

@uncanny_static The most universal one? Or the one you're most confident with? Or the most beautiful one?

@scy I guess, familiarity and quick access to controls is the criterion. Which kinda rules out the reface DX.

@uncanny_static A Blofeld and Keystep are two things to carry, but it would also decouple things: Control other people's synth(s) with the Keystep, or play the Blofeld with other controllers.
The MicroKorg on the other hand is more all-in-one and compact (I think?) and has retro flair. If keys aren't working, could they be fixed at the venue? And/or replaced by MIDI?

@scy I hope, the microKorg keys can be fixed, by cleaning the contacts. So hopefully, all you need is a screwdriver, some soapsuds, and some time. I am currently lacking the latter, though.
