I now have soooo many circular needles. From 3mm up to 6mm, every half-millimeter step at least one, often multiple with different chord lengths.

Now, I could really have also used a nice 2.5mm one, but. Guess I can just buy that one, if basically every other imaginable size is covered now xDD

@punktrock I put a few 3mm needles in different lengths on my wishlist this year :)

That lone DPN is good for back-scratching!

@emery

My current project (the sock avoidance fingerless gloves, haha) are 3mm!! I think I'll try to transfer that onto circular needles, to learn how using them works :D

@punktrock They work exactly the same way as DPNs - you knit around and around and around.

Hopefully it's not something about the sock pattern that's giving you troubles? I feel responsible!

@emery

Depends a little on if you have the right length available tho, right? I've started figuring out this whole magic loop deal, kinda funny how crochet has that too, just that it is ... something completely different xDD

I'm pretty sure it's not your pattern specifically, it's just the first time I'm doing a sock gusset in general and I really need to sit down and just. Count stitches and read the instructions carefully again. Take my sweet time, be patient. And once I've figured it out, it'll probably be much easier the second time around!!

@punktrock Oh, yeah, I don't do magic loop. I work on circulars that are the "right" length for the project, with very few exceptions. (Primarily because I mostly knit hats on circs, and socks/mitts on DPNs. I'm branching out into sweaters this year.)

@emery

Haaatsssss ...... I sure have a hat or two I wanna try :DDD And some of the circulars should be ideal hat length!! Just having the fitting length as opposed to magic loop DOES seem very fun, gotta say!

@punktrock You can squish a LOT of stitches onto a circular needle. I'm working around the neckline ribbing of a sweater right now on a 16" (what's that, 40 cm?) with no trouble.
