these are both different one-knob abstractions of their SplitEQ

de-boom lowers the sustain information in the low end without lowering the transient information — awesome for cleaning up kick drums, bass, drum subgroups, entire mixes

sheen machine does the opposite on the high end — adding gloss without boosting high-frequency transients (i collect plugins like this)
