After using #VoidLinux for nearly a year on my main PC, I'm going back to #ArchLinux. There have been just too many hardware (mostly audio related) issues and especially with #pipewire.

@flavigula Can you tell me what some of your problems were? I've been using pipewire on Void myself (glibc version) and have yet to be affected by any serious problems. But my music making softwere needs are relatively limited, I bet.

@albi

Pipewire would randomly switch outputs (and sometimes inputs) to the next or previous multiple of eight on my MOTU LP32. I had to start many things with pw-jack. It would crash at times during recording or start bit crushing all incoming audio. Weird stuff. None of it happens on Arch.

@flavigula Ok, as I thought, I don't have multiples of 8 of in/outputs. 😄 Haven't had any crashing or bit-crushing though on neither of my UA or Scarlett interfaces, so could it perhaps be a driver problem? I only had M2 by Motu and it was working just fine, although I wasn't doing anything critical with it back then so might be I just didn't notice.
