Christmas is just around the corner and with it the question of what to eat for the festive season. ๐๐
Fish is particularly popular, but โgood fishโ is becoming increasingly hard to come by. This is why Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V. (DUH), the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, Naturschutzbund Deutschland e.V. (NABU e.V.), the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) and the consumer advice centres have updated the joint โGood Fishโ list.

@geomar_de I have tried to buy fish from the list but found it impossible to get an offer no matter the price.
The fish sellers seemed open to the list but showed very little optimism to actually be able to provide fish from that matches the list's requirements regarding region and type of fishing technique.

Yes, that's a dilemma. It can be really frustrating if you can't find a fish that meets the criteria on the list despite your best efforts. Unfortunately, nothing else is to be expected given the high level of overfishing.
The Verbraucherzentrale has carried out a survey of retailers and found a few products. ๐ https://www.vzhh.de/guter-fisch-liste (only in German, and you have to scroll down a bit). So this is a small shopping aid.
