SXX Exchange update: I truly suffered through my family celebration yesterday, convinced that my fic was actually terrible, disjointed, nonsensical, full of infodumping and empty of vibes (but I did not suffer too much, because there was cake and also a baby). After reveals, I suffered even more acutely until my recipient said that they liked it!
I have now read it three times, having not been able to read it all the way through in its final state before posting, and I feel like it’s pretty good.
