Not cool, my #restic backups haven't run for weeks or since whenever it left its lockfiles around... that's not what you expect from dependable backup software.

@astro possible solution, at least quicker in letting you know there's something wrong - without having to look into emails each day.

@astro does the restic binary exited successfully? You should see a failed Systemd unit if it failed. Then you could systemd to notify you about failed units.
